Our Story

Like many great ideas, Pizzeria da Marco was born at the dinner table.

It was 2009. I was having dinner at my business partner's house (he undercooked the steaks, by the way), and we were talking about one of the new restaurants he was opening in the DC area. Over glasses of beautiful Italian wine from the Antinori family, the conversation shifted—from fine dining and casual spots to the wide world of Italian cuisine.

At the time, my family and I had just moved from Las Vegas, where I worked at The Venetian and the Wynn. As we talked about the many regional specialties of Italy, one topic kept bubbling to the top: pizza. And not just any pizza—true Neapolitan pizza. The kind that's light, flavorful, and rooted in centuries of tradition.

That night, we both agreed: there was something special about Neapolitan pizza. About a month later, we decided to bring that passion to life. A few months after that, Pizzeria da Marco opened its doors.

Years later, that same spirit still guides us: a table, good food, good company, good wine, shared stories, laughter—and lots of pizza .🍕🍕
